Acer Profectum (Eager for Progress)
Guitars: J. Phelps | Atmospherics: E. Sornstein | Electric Piano: F. Hadley
Gratiously read by Stephen Kimbal
This piece is part of a suite called "Dormiro Animus." It began as a re-interpretation and simplification of a few animal symbols from the Alchemical treatise Atalanta Fugeins(1617) by Michael Maeir (1568-1622). We wanted to subjectify and clarify some of the great philosophies by re-presenting a mix of Carl Jungs approach to 'Inner' Alchemy and the symbolism created by the early European alchemists. The pieces in the suite, therefore, are presented as 'journal' entries of an alchemist to best express the meaning of these crucial stages in the process of enlightenment.
Dormiro Animus is due to be released on Dynamophone Records mid October, 2008.
Flirting amongst London's dusty archives and lantern-lit pubs, The collective known as The Lullaby League has an uncanny, almost-arcane talent for light, rich ambient music that tells vast stories and relates ages-old philosophies. Their pledge is to weave soft, secret tales of beauty and vibrance for children and parents alike - an expression of the history and legacy of humankind fused with the magical creativity of myth and fantasy.
